How we collect, process, and use personal data
Last updated: 2026-07-30
PigModel Animal Technology Co., Ltd. ("PigModel", "we") respects and protects your privacy. This policy is provided under Article 8 of Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and explains the purpose, categories, and use of the personal data we collect through this website, along with the rights available to you.
Please read this policy before using this website or submitting the contact form.
1. Scope
This policy applies only to the PigModel corporate website at pigmodel.asia.
- The iPig system (ipig.pigmodel.asia) is a separate member service with its own terms of service and privacy policy. Personal data handled there is outside the scope of this policy.
- Third-party websites and services linked or embedded here have their own privacy policies. This policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their data practices.

3. Purposes of collection
We collect personal data for the following specified purposes only:
- Responding to enquiries submitted through the contact form and conducting the resulting business correspondence (PDPA purpose code 090, customer management and service).
- Discussing contract research, technical collaboration, and academic exchange (PDPA purpose code 069, contractual or comparable legal relationships).
- Maintaining the security of this website and preventing abuse or malicious traffic (PDPA purpose code 136, information and database management).
- Understanding aggregate website usage in order to improve our content and services (PDPA purpose code 157, survey, statistics, and research analysis).
4. Categories of personal data collected
- Identifiers (PDPA category C001): the name, email address, and telephone number you enter in the contact form.
- Content you choose to provide: the subject and message of your enquiry, which may include your institution, research requirements, or any other information you disclose.
- Technical data: your IP address, used solely for human verification and rate limiting, and not retained together with the content of your enquiry.
- We do not collect special categories of personal data through this website (medical records, healthcare, genetic, sex life, health examination, or criminal records, as defined in Article 6 of the PDPA). Please do not include such information in the form.
5. Retention period, locations, recipients, and means of use
- Period: from the date of collection until five years after our last correspondence with you. The same period applies whether or not the enquiry results in an engagement; afterwards, the data is deleted or anonymised. Where a statutory retention obligation applies, that period governs instead.
- Locations: Taiwan (R.O.C.), together with the server locations of the processors listed below, including the United States and their global points of presence.
- Recipients: PigModel personnel who need the data to perform their duties, and the service providers listed below, which process personal data on our behalf. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting (Cloudflare Pages), Cloudflare Turnstile human verification, rate limiting, and cookieless aggregate traffic statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics).
- Resend: sends the content of your form submission to our mailbox on our behalf.
- Google LLC: receives requests directly from your browser only when you view a page containing an embedded Google Map or YouTube video.
- Means: by email, electronic file storage, and paper records, through automated and non-automated means.
6. Cookies and browser storage
This website uses no analytics or advertising cookies, and performs no cross-site behavioural tracking or personalised advertising. We use only the following items, which are necessary for the site to function:
- NEXT_LOCALE (cookie, one-year lifetime): remembers the display language you selected.
- pigmodel-sensitive-accepted (browser localStorage): records that you have acknowledged the content warning on research imagery, so the notice is not repeated. It is stored on your device only and is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
- Cloudflare Turnstile may store technical data in your browser during verification in order to distinguish humans from automated programs. It is not used to track your browsing behaviour.
7. Traffic statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall visit patterns. The service sets no cookies, creates no cross-site identifier, and collects no directly identifying data; it produces only aggregate figures such as page views, referrers, countries, and device types.
We also use Google Search Console to see how this website appears in search results. It provides aggregate search query and impression statistics only and does not identify individual visitors.
8. Embedded third-party content
So that you can find our facility and view videos of it, some pages embed Google Maps and YouTube. YouTube videos are served from the youtube-nocookie.com domain and are not loaded until you click play.
When that content loads, Google receives your IP address together with browser and operating system information, subject to the Google Privacy Policy. If you would rather avoid these transfers, do not play the videos and do not interact with the map.
9. Data security
- The entire site is served over HTTPS, with HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) and a Content Security Policy (CSP) in force.
- Contact form submissions must pass Cloudflare Turnstile verification and are rate limited to prevent abuse and bulk submission.
- Internally, enquiries are accessible on a need-to-know basis, limited to the personnel handling them.
10. Client data and confidentiality
Test articles, study designs, raw data, images, and reports supplied by contract research clients are handled under the confidentiality obligations of the applicable study contract. They are not disclosed externally and are not used for the website purposes described in this policy.
Such material is never collected through this website. If you need to send confidential information, please contact us first so that a secure channel can be agreed.
11. Your rights and how to exercise them
Under Article 3 of the PDPA, in respect of the personal data we hold about you, you may: enquire about or request to review it, request a copy, request correction or supplementation, request that we cease collecting, processing, or using it, and request its deletion.
To exercise these rights, email service@pigmodel.asia with enough information for us to verify your identity. We will decide on requests to enquire, review, or obtain a copy within 15 days, and on requests to correct, supplement, cease use, or delete within 30 days. Where necessary these periods may be extended by a further 15 and 30 days respectively, and we will notify you in writing.
We charge nothing for exercising these rights, although a necessary cost may be charged for enquiries or for producing copies (Article 14 of the PDPA). Note that if you ask us to cease use or delete your data, we may no longer be able to respond to your enquiry.
12. Consequences of not providing personal data
Providing personal data is entirely voluntary. However, the name, email address, subject, and message fields are necessary for us to reply; without them we cannot identify you or respond to your enquiry. The telephone field is optional.
13. Additional information for visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the basis that it is necessary for steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and on the basis of our legitimate interests in securing this website and responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).
You may also object to or request restriction of processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Some of our processors are located in the United States. Those transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable Data Privacy Framework certification.
14. Minors
This is a business-to-business information website and is not directed at minors. If you are under 18, please obtain the consent of your legal guardian before providing personal data.
15. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy following changes in law, technology, or our services. Revisions are published on this page and the "Last updated" date is amended accordingly; we suggest reviewing it periodically.
